Laurel man arrested for OUI
after boating accident on Nanticoke River

SEAFORD (Sept. 11, 2015) – A Laurel man was arrested early Thursday morning by Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police and charged with operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol following a boating accident that ejected him and a passenger into the Nanticoke River west of Seaford. After he and the passenger came ashore, Matthew S. Cell, 34, was cited for OUI by Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police and released, pending an appearance in Justice of the Peace Court 14 in Georgetown at a later date. No injuries to Cell or his passenger were reported.

The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit and the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department assisted with recovery of the vessel. The accident remains under investigation by Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police, with possible additional charges pending.
