Learn about shark and beach “bug” studies at Cape Henlopen State Park
LEWES (Dec. 4, 2012) – Visitors can find out firsthand what researchers are discovering at Cape Henlopen State Park on Thursday, Dec. 6 beginning at noon in the Seaside Nature Center. The public is invited to bring a lunch and enjoy a presentation by professors from the University of Delaware about current research in the park.
Dr. Matt Oliver will present findings from his shark-tagging research in Delaware Bay, and Dr. Jon Cohen will discuss his studies into the vision and orientation abilities in our local beach-hopper amphipods.
The program fee is $3 per person, and includes coffee and cookies. Pre-registration is required. Registration and information are available at 302-645-6852. The Seaside Nature Center is open from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday during the winter.
