Lums Pond State Park Offers Autumn Hayrides
BEAR (Sept. 24, 2012) – Lums Pond State Park is offering scenic group hayrides through the park on Fridays at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3, 4, 5 and 6 p.m.in October. All hayrides leave from the campground and are followed by a campfire. Hayrides accommodate 30 to 40 people and cost $100 per hay wagon.
The rides are perfect for any group looking for a fun get-together. Riders will get a view of the park’s beautiful fields and woods in the crisp autumn season. Groups are welcome to bring refreshments to enjoy around a campfire after the hayride. Skewers for roasting marshmallows will be provided.
Lums Pond State Park, located at 1068 Howell School Road in Bear, is built around the largest freshwater pond in Delaware. The park features excellent fishing, sports facilities, boat rentals, hiking trails and more on its 1,790 acres on the north side of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
