Lums Pond State Park to host fifth
BEAR (Oct. 20, 2014) – Lums Pond State Park will host the annual Halloween Hoot on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 2 to 7 p.m. The public is welcome to this family-friendly program held at the campground. Campers are admitted for $3; all others pay a $5 program fee.
This event promises no tricks - just treats. From 2 to 5 p.m., children will enjoy face-painting, pumpkin-painting, crafts, games, hayrides, vendors and music. Food will be available throughout the day, and the evening will feature a costume parade around our decorated campsite to go trick or treating, a concert and a campfire.
Prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated campsite and best-dressed dog. Families can stay the night in the campground - if they dare - or come and enjoy the day.
Lums Pond State Park, located at 1068 Howell School Road in Bear, is built around the largest freshwater pond in Delaware. The park features excellent fishing, sports facilities, boat rentals, hiking trails and more on its 1,790 acres on the north side of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. More information about Lums Pond programs and programs in all Delaware State Parks is available at destateparks.com.
