Sports Fields at Lums Pond State Park Now Available by Reservation

Four multi-purpose athletic fields at Lums Pond State Park can now be reserved in advance. DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation has announced that the fields at the park can be reserved in advance for a fee of $50 per day.

These include the football/soccer field in Area 3, both baseball fields in Area 3 and the cricket (football/soccer) field in Area 1.

If the fields are not reserved, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis, as always.  Reservations can be made beginning on the first business day of each New Year for any day during that calendar year. Payment must be made at the time of reservation.

The volleyball, basketball, tennis and horseshoes areas remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The fields at Lums Pond are very popular for athletic tournaments and events. The new reservation policy allows groups to guarantee use of the fields in advance of the date needed. New revenue generated by the fees will offset the cost of general maintenance on the fields as well as help with overall park expenses.

For more information and to inquire about reservations, call 302-368-6989.
