Marine Spill Response Training Set for Sept. 17 at Rehoboth Bay Marina
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Boat owners and marina operators are invited to attend marine spill response training offered by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control from 12 until 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Rehoboth Bay Marina, 1115 Highway One, Dewey Beach. The training is free and open to anyone interested in gaining first-hand knowledge of marine spill response and clean-up.
The training is being held during National Pollution Prevention Week as a way to encourage actions that will help prevent, recognize and react to a fuel or sewage release on Delaware waterways. DNREC’s Emergency Response Branch, Pollution Prevention and Delaware Clean Marina programs are offering the training and will demonstrate equipment and clean-up techniques and provide information of how to develop a spill response plan.
The training will be held immediately after the Delaware Clean Marina Certification Ceremony at Rehoboth Bay Marina.
