McGinnis Pond boat ramp expected to reopen Oct. 12
Parking lot to open for shoreline anglers today

DOVER (Oct. 9, 2013) – Parking lot improvements at the McGinnis Pond boat ramp near Frederica have been completed and the lot will be open for anglers today, Wednesday, Oct. 9. However, due to the need for additional, unexpected repairs to the boat ramp, the ramp itself will remain closed until Saturday, Oct. 12, DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife announced today. The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, on Saturday, weather permitting. The boat ramp facility has been closed for parking lot improvements and upgrades since Sept. 23.

Boaters who regularly use the McGinnis Pond boat ramp may opt to use Andrews Lake, Coursey Pond, Killen’s Pond, or Derby Pond, all located within 5 miles of McGinnis Pond.

For more information, please call the Fisheries Section at 302-739-9914.
