McGinnis Pond boat ramp facility
to temporarily close; reopening expected Nov. 1

DOVER (Oct. 29, 2013) – Due to the necessity of making unexpected repairs to the boat ramp, the McGinnis Pond boat ramp and parking lot will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 29 through Thursday, Oct. 31, DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife announced today. The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, on Friday, Nov. 1, weather permitting. The Frederica-area facility has been closed periodically during parking lot improvements and upgrades since Sept. 23.

Boaters who regularly use the McGinnis Pond boat ramp may opt to use Andrews Lake, Coursey Pond, Killen’s Pond, or Derby Pond, all located within 5 miles of McGinnis Pond.

For more information, please call the Fisheries Section at 302-739-9914.
