More free events at the Port Penn Interpretive Center
DELAWARE CITY – The Port Penn Interpretive Center will host an interesting and informative program on the history of the C & D Canal with Cecil County historian, Mike Dixon on Saturday, July 25 at 2 p.m. Dixon will take visitors back to a time of mule-drawn barges and steamboats and discuss how changing modes of transportation shaped this part of Delaware.
On Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m., families can join a park naturalist on a fun and exciting wetlands scavenger hunt. Participants will search for furry and feathered creatures, fish, insects and much more around the town of Port Penn.
Both programs are free of charge and suitable for families and individuals of all ages. The Port Penn Interpretive Center is located four miles south of Delaware City on Route 9.
