DNREC’s DART and Polly Drummond yard waste sites will close
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting February 15
DOVER (Feb. 2, 2011) – In order to improve site maintenance and reduce non-residential use of the DART and Polly Drummond yard waste sites in northern New Castle County, both sites will be closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, effective February 15. The new schedule will also allow for grinding of yard waste into mulch and for maintenance to take place at the sites without week-long closures. Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies, as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop-off materials at the DNREC yard waste sites.
DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
New regular hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted (starting February 15).
Closed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (starting February 15)
Located on the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.
Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
New regular hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted (starting February 15).
Closed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (starting February 15).
Located near Newark in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road about ½ mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.
Starting February 15, New Castle County residents wishing to recycle their yard waste on days when the DART and Polly Drummond Yard waste sites are closed may use the options listed below. These private businesses offer yard waste drop-off and may charge a fee for services. For more information, please contact each business directly.
