Nitrogen Tests for Manured Soils Available to Corn Growers

The Kent Conservation District is offering its Pre-sidedress Nitrogen Testing (PSNT) Program for manured soils to corn growers in Kent County. The purpose of the test is to help farmers determine whether or not additional nitrogen fertilization is necessary.

Soil samples for testing must be taken when the corn is between 6 and 12 inches in height, and before any additional nitrogen is applied. Test results are normally available within 24 hours.

For more information or to schedule a test, please call the Kent Conservation District at 302-741-2600, ext. 3.
