Delaware State Park Rangers’ investigation into indecent
exposure complaints leads to arrest of Nevada man
REHOBOTH (Sept. 10, 2012) – An investigation by Delaware State Park Rangers and Delaware State Police into recent complaints of a man exposing himself to children and adults at Delaware Seashore State Park led to the arrest September 7 of a Nevada man on numerous charges of indecent exposure and sexual harassment.
James P. Gaske, age 54, of Henderson, Nev., was arrested and charged with four counts of first degree indecent exposure, two counts of sexual harassment attempting to induce sexual contact, three counts of disorderly contact and a single count of second degree indecent exposure.
Rangers were called to the Indian River Inlet South East Day Area swimming beach bathhouse on August 29 and 31 and September 4 – summoned each time following reports that a man had exposed himself there. After each incident the man fled but witnesses later provided a good description of him to officers. Rangers increased their patrols of the area and last Friday undercover officers arrested a man matching the description at the bathhouse.
Gaske was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Rehoboth, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in lieu of $6,000 secured bond, pending trial at a later date.
Anyone with information about related incidents at the park is asked to call the State Parks Enforcement Section at 302-739-9221.
