Polly Drummond Hill Road Yard Waste Site to close for maintenance July 19-23
Site will reopen July 24; alternative sites available until then
DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill Yard Waste Demonstration Site will close the week of July 19-23 for maintenance activities. The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about one-half mile north of the Kirkwood Highway near Newark.
New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the Polly Drummond Hill site is closed can take yard waste to several alternative sites. A list of the sites, including DNREC’s DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site near Bear, can be found at www.dnrec.delaware.gov/yardwaste.

Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Closed Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23; reopens Saturday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m.
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about one-half mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.
DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear. (Turn into the DART facility at 1423 S. Dupont Hwy, Bear.)
Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at the DNREC sites.
