Port Penn Interpretive Center offers free Town Tour Sept. 1

PORT PENN (Aug. 26, 2013) – Individuals and families who are interested in the history of Port Penn are invited to the Port Penn Interpretive Center at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 for a guided Town Tour.

The tour will feature a walk around Port Penn with stops at various historic houses. The history of Port Penn from its founding to the present will be explored during the tour. The tour is free; comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent are suggested.

The Port Penn Interpretive Center, off Route 9 near Delaware City, is open Fridays through Sundays from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is free; group tours may be arranged in advance by calling 302-834-7941.
