Port Penn town tour

DELAWARE CITY (Aug. 15, 2012) – The staff of the Port Penn Interpretive Center invites the public on a tour of Port Penn on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m.  The tour guides visitors past the grand old homes of Port Penn and features stories of the individuals who had an influence on the history of the town, as well as the scenic marshlands that surround it.  Children will enjoy a town scavenger hunt and perhaps a ghost story or two.

After the program, visitors may tour the Port Penn Interpretive Center and its exhibits that present the story of life in the historic wetland communities along the shores of the Delaware River.

The Port Penn Interpretive Center is located four miles south of Delaware City on Route 9. More information is available by calling the Fort Delaware State Park Office at 302-834-7941, or visiting
