Portion of Junction and Breakwater Trail at Cape Henlopen State Park Set to Close for Utility Work
DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation will close a section of the Junction and Breakwater Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park for utility work beginning Feb. 27 and ending April 3.
About 1.5 miles of the trail north of Wolfe Neck Road will be closed. The closure is to accommodate construction of a new sewer line for the Wolfe Neck Treatment Plant, in order to improve sewer service in the Lewes area.
During construction, the rest of the six-mile trail, from Wolfe Neck Road south to Rehoboth Beach, will be open to the public.
The trail is expected to re-open completely on Saturday, April 4.
The Junction and Breakwater Trail can be accessed by parking at the Wolfe Neck parking area or through the bus parking lot behind the Tanger Seaside Outlet.
For more information, please call Cape Henlopen State Park at 302-645-8983.
