Recycling Public Advisory Council to Meet Mar. 19 

The Recycling Public Advisory Council will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 19 at the Delaware Public Archives 121 Duke of York Street.

Topics on the agenda include:

  • Measurement & Methodology Sub-Committee Report
  • Value of Landfill Diversion Sub-Committee
  • Recycling Assistance Grant Program 

The agenda will also include old and new business, public comments and scheduling for future meetings.

The Recycling Public Advisory Council was re-established by Executive Order No. 90 in September 2006 and charged with advising the Governor’s Office, DNREC and the Delaware Solid Waste Authority on all aspects of recycling, including development of grant criteria and selection of applications; a methodology for measuring recycling rates; and possible outreach activities designed to achieve higher recycling rates. 

Members of the council are: BJ Vinton, Citizens Solid Waste Solutions Commission; Wallace Kremer, Delaware Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement; Patricia Todd, League of Women Voters; Pasquale Canzano, Chief Executive Officer, DSWA; Richard Cecil, Delaware Association of Counties; James Werner, director of the DNREC Division of Air and Waste Management; Richard Fleming, Delaware Nature Society; George Wright, Executive Director, League of Local Governments; Paul Bickhart, Recycling Express of Delaware; Steve Masterson, Waste Management of Delaware; and Teresa Iris-Lunn, Indian River School District.
