Recycling Public Advisory Council to meet Jan. 20
regarding Governor’s statewide recycling plan

The Recycling Public Advisory Council will hold a special meeting from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Delaware Public Archives Building, 121 Duke of York Street, Dover.

The purpose of the meeting is to comment on the Governor’s recently announced recycling framework and the Delaware Solid Waste Authority’s draft solid waste management plan. The Council’s goal is to provide feedback on these items as soon as possible.

The Recycling Public Advisory Council was re-established by Executive Order No. 90 in September 2006 and charged with advising the Governor’s Office, DNREC and the Delaware Solid Waste Authority on all aspects of recycling, including development of grant criteria and selection of applications; a methodology for measuring recycling rates; and possible outreach activities designed to achieve higher recycling rates.
