Smell the flowers and tour the gun battery
at Cape Henlopen State Park
LEWES (May 7, 2013) – This weekend at Cape Henlopen State Park, visitors can celebrate Mother Nature with beautiful spring flowers, or tour the gun battery by lantern light - or both.
Bring your mother to the Seaside Nature Center at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. to find out how to identify common plants, discover cool facts, and learn to appreciate their beauty. The program is for ages five and older, and costs $2 per person – but mothers attend for free. For more information or to pre-register, please call 302-645-6852. Park entrance fees are in effect. Also on Saturday, May 11, at7:30 p.m., visitors can come to the Fort Miles Orientation Building at and tour the gun battery by lantern light and learn how soldiers defended our coast during World War II.
