Special holiday events and programs offered in Delaware State Parks
DOVER (Nov. 26, 2013) – Delaware State Parks has many events scheduled throughout the state this holiday season that promise to help families create new traditions and boost their spirits while enjoying the beautiful winter scenery in the parks.
Families can enjoy breakfast with Santa at the Brandywine Zoo on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 to 10 a.m. Children’s activities will include pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, up-close animal encounters and a chance to walk through the zoo before it opens to the public.
Back again this year is the zoo’s Noon Year’s Eve Celebration. Visitors and staff will ring in the New Year, Tuesday, Dec. 31 at noon with games, crafts and much more. Pre-registration is required for both zoo programs and more information can be found at BrandywineZoo.org.
Auburn Heights Preserve will host an Old-Fashioned Holiday Event at the Marshall Steam Museum on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. This special program will feature Victorian holiday traditions, crafts and activities. Pre-registration is required and families can visit AuburnHeights.org for more information.
