St. Jones Reserve Hosts Birding Marsh Madness
                                           Tally Rally on April 23
Event Part of the Delmarva Birding Weekend

The Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve will host a Marsh Madness Tally Rally from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at the St. Jones Reserve, located at 818 Kitts Hummock Road near Dover. The event, part of the Delmarva Birding Weekend, brings together birding enthusiasts to share experiences and provide a “tally list” of bird species observed during the day.

While at St. Jones Reserve, event participants are encouraged to explore the beauty and amenities of the Reserve, including a trail that provides access to the diverse plants and wildlife that inhabit the Reserve’s marsh and estuarine habitats.

The Delmarva Birding Weekend, held April 22-26, is sponsored by Delmarva Low Impact Tourism Experiences, a coalition of more than 50 businesses, nonprofit organizations and local, state and federal government agencies. The coalition promotes low-impact eco-tourism experiences on Delmarva. DNREC’s Division of Soil and Water Conservation, Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve and Division of Fish and Wildlife, DuPont Nature Center, are partners in the event.
