State wildlife areas will reopen for duck hunting
and recreational activities Wednesday, Oct. 31
DOVER (Oct. 30, 2012) – DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today that all wildlife areas statewide, except for Assawoman in Sussex County, will reopen Wednesday for hunting and other regular recreational activities – including waterfowling from state duck blinds based on each WMA’s regular rotational schedule.
All state duck blinds will be open for the remainder of the first split of duck season (Oct. 27 - November 7). However the blinds, relative to their camouflaging with marsh grass, have not been individually inspected since the storm struck, so hunter discretion regarding each blind’s use is advised.
