Summer Fun and Education Fair at the Blue Ball Barn
WILMINGTON (Feb. 2, 2011) - Alapocas Run State Park hosts its third Summer Fun and Education Fair at the Blue Ball Barn in Alapocas Run State Park on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. The fair, which begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m., gives families the chance to learn about fun educational opportunities for the summer. All ages are welcome at this free event.
Local summer camps, educational groups, sports clubs and nearby parks and playgrounds will be represented during the event. Programs offered by several vendors will take place throughout the day, including a live animal show by The Brandywine Zoo and a performance by Olympiad Gymnastics. The day will include drawings for prizes such as coupons to summer camps and an overnight package in Delaware State Parks. Alapocas Run State Park is one of Delaware’s newest parks, and features multi-use trails and the historic the Blue Ball Barn, which houses the Delaware State Parks Folk Art Collection. Alapocas Run State Park is located off of Route 202 (Concord Pike) in Wilmington and is easily accessible from I-95 and other major roadways.
