TA Instruments Receives Coastal Zone Act Permit to Relocate their Manufacturing Operation
Under the authority of the Coastal Zone Act and the regulations governing Delaware’s Coastal Zone, Secretary John A. Hughes of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has issued a Coastal Zone Act Permit to TA Instruments to relocate their existing operation from 109 Lukens Drive to a new building built on Parcel 32, Lukens Drive in the Riveredge Industrial Park in New Castle.
TA Instruments submitted a permit application on Oct. 14, 2008. A public hearing was held on the application on Nov. 12, 2008. TA Instruments will continue the manufacturing of 125 rheological and 600 thermal instruments per year in their new building.
The operation would result in 30 gallons per year of spent isopropyl alcohol from cleaning parts in the manufacturing process. The company will also produce regular office trash and cardboard waste. The company’s offset proposal is to recycle the isopropyl alcohol using a licensed and reputable recycler of hazardous waste and also to recycle the waste cardboard and spent light bulbs off site.
Anyone wishing to appeal this decision to the State Coastal Zone Industrial Control Board must do so before Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008. For an appeal form or more information, please contact Gail Henderson, at 302-739-9909. There is a $100 appeal application fee.
If no appeal is received within the appeal period, this decision becomes final.
