Theater Performance Commemorates Veterans

DELAWARE CITY (Nov. 13, 2013) – Fort DuPont State Park and the Reedy Point Players have partnered to welcome the public to a free theater performance of “In Honor and Memory,” on Saturday Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. The show is a one-act play written and directed by Gail Wagner, and is a tribute to all those who have served our country and those who kept the home fires burning.

The play is set in a school where high school students have been given an assignment to talk or research someone involved in American military history. Most of the students don’t know the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. However, once they begin to research, they discover the important contributions men and women have made to ensure our freedom.

The performance takes place in the Sanders Room at the Grassdale Center; the main office for Fort Delaware and Fort DuPont State Parks. The address is 108 Reedy Point Bridge Road in Delaware City.

Reservations are not necessary, and visitors may obtain specific directions by calling the Fort Delaware State Park office Monday through Friday at 302-834-7941.
