Three men charged with game violations involving waterfowl

SMYRNA (Feb. 1, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Jan. 29 arrested three men in a field near Smyrna for game violations.

Melvin J. Durand, age 57, of Smyrna, was arrested and charged with one count of over limit of Canada geese and two counts of unlawfully taken game. Melvin J. Durand Jr., age 37, of Harrington, and Edward M. Ruebeck, age 33, of New Castle, were both arrested and charged with one count of over limit of Canada geese and one count of unlawfully taken game. Four illegally taken geese were taken as evidence. All three men were fined and released.
