DELAWARE CITY (Sept. 7, 2012) – The very popular Paranormal Adventures return to Fort Delaware this fall. Programs are offered on Sept. 28 and 29, Oct. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20 and 26 at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. and on Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. The 6:30 program on Sept. 29 is a special family program when children under 12 are welcome if accompanied by an adult. All other paranormal programs are for adults and children 12 and over. On Oct.27, die-hard ghost hunters can experience an extended Paranormal Investigation from 9:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.

Participants will join in an actual investigation with Delaware Ghost Hunters, Inc.  Stops will include areas where paranormal activity has been suspected, and investigators will use EMFs, data recorders, and temperature sensors trying to capture unusual sights and sounds.  Visitors are welcome to bring their own equipment as long as it is easy to transport.

Areas of the Pea Patch Island Civil War fortress to be investigated may include the fort's prisoner barracks, mess hall, officer's kitchen, ordnance room area and the west end of the Endicott section. The evening will start with a short introduction at the entrance to the fort, after which small groups will be led by a park interpreter to the various areas of investigation.

The three-hour investigations (including boat travel time to the fort) are available by reservation only. The cost per participant is $40. Participants should dress appropriately for weather and walking; no open-toed shoes. This is a rain or shine program. The program will only be canceled in the event of severe weather making the boat ride unsafe. The Extended Paranormal Adventure costs $100 per person.

Fort Delaware State Park is accessible only by ferry. Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to boat departure to check in at the Fort Delaware dock, 45 Clinton Street, Delaware City, 19706. Visitors should dress appropriately for the weather; no open-toed shoes. In the event of EXTREME inclement weather, making boat travel unsafe, park staff will call registrants with a rain date rescheduled.

Reservations may be made by calling 1-877-987-2757 or online at  More information about Fort Delaware is available by calling 302-834-7941.
