Tickets on sale for Fort Delaware’s Appetites for Apparitions
DELAWARE CITY (Aug. 15, 2012) – Tickets for Appetite for Apparitions, the popular Fort Delaware program that pairs a buffet dinner in historic Delaware City with a candlelight tour of the fort, are now available online at destateparks.com. The program is offered on Saturdays, Aug. 18, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. Dinner at Crabby Dick’s Restaurant on Clinton Street in Delaware City begins at 5:15 and 7:15 p.m. There will be one seating and tour on Aug. 18 at 7:15 p.m. only.
After dessert, participants will board the ferry to Pea Patch Island for a candlelight ghost tour. They will hear the stories and folklore associated with the ghosts said to haunt Fort Delaware, and perhaps encounter a surprise or two along the way. Ferry departures are at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. This is not a paranormal investigative program.
Tickets are $50 per person and include an extensive buffet dinner, ferry trip and candlelight tour. Reservations may be made by calling 1-877- 987-2757 or visiting destateparks.com.
Fort Delaware State Park is located on Pea Patch Island in the Delaware River. During the Civil War, Fort Delaware housed thousands of Confederate prisoners of war. The fort offers first-person living history presentations based on actual historical research of the people who lived and worked on the island. Programs present the daily lives of Union soldiers, Confederate prisoners and civilians.
