Townsend man charged with multiple commercial fishing violations

TOWNSEND (Jan. 4, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Dec. 29 arrested a Townsend man and charged him with 68 counts of commercial fishing violations.

Kenneth C. Bachman, age 45, of Townsend, was arrested and charged with 17 counts of failing to tend fixed nets, 17 counts of failing to mark fish pots, 17 counts of un-permitted food fishing equipment and 17 counts of using fish pots with improper escape panels.

Bachman pled not guilty to the charges in Justice of the Peace Court No. 9 in Middletown and was released on his own recognizance pending trial.

Citizens are encouraged to report fish and wildlife violations to the Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Section at 302-739-4580.
