Townsend man charged with weapons, game violations

TOWNSEND (Jan. 4, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Jan. 1 arrested a Townsend man on charges of game and weapons violations.

Michael Cole, age 40, of Townsend, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited and three counts of possession of unlawfully taken game. A shotgun and three squirrels were seized as evidence.

Cole pled not guilty to the charges in Justice of the Peace Court No. 11 in New Castle and was released on $3,000 unsecured bond pending trial in Superior Court.
