Two Sussex men cited for deer hunting-related violations
SUSSEX COUNTY (Nov. 4, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents cited two Sussex men on Oct. 27 for hunting-related violations.
Greg C. Vannicola, age 25, of Greenwood, pled guilty in Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Rehoboth Beach to charges of hunting without a license, possession of unlawfully taken deer and failing to check deer within 24 hours of harvest. Vannicola paid a fine of $1,484.
Leonardo D. Ruggiero, age 18, of Ellendale, pled guilty in Justice of the Peace Court 2 to charges of hunting without a license, possession of unlawfully taken deer, failing to tag a deer and illegally hunting with a rifle. Ruggiero paid a fine of $1,575.
Both men lost their hunting licenses for one year, and each surrendered two unlawfully taken sets of antlers to the Division.
