Two Men Charged for Unauthorized Hunting in Seashore Park

            After observing a vehicle parked in an area closed to waterfowl hunting on Dec. 23 in Delaware Seashore State Park near Rehoboth Beach, Park Rangers detained two men carrying shotguns and a juvenile who were approaching the vehicle and called Fish and Wildlife Enforcement’s K-9 unit to search for evidence of illegal hunting.

            The K-9 unit located a firearm, a decoy and spent shell casings which were seized as evidence, and the two men were arrested. Justin S. Davis, age 18, of 31369 Kendale Road, Lewes, and Christopher O. Allen, age 39, of 507 First Midway, Rehoboth Beach, were both charged with unauthorized hunting and hunting in an area not in accordance with state or federal law. The juvenile was not charged. Davis and Allen were each issued tickets with $50 fines.
