                Water Supply Coordinating Council to Meet Feb. 20

The Delaware Water Supply Coordinating Council will meet 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 at the Delaware Department of Agriculture, 2320 S. DuPont Highway, Dover.

The agenda includes:

• Review and Approval of Meeting Notes – Dec. 18, 2008

• Water Conditions Report – Delaware Geological Society

• Water Utility Reports (Supply/demand projects)
     -Artesian
     -Newark
     -New Castle
     -United Water
     -Wilmington

• New Castle County Monitoring Network – Delaware Geological Society

• New Castle County Monitoring Network Funding – Water Supply Coordinating Council

• Self-Sufficiency Filing – Public Service Commission/Water Resources Agency

• Reauthorization of Water Supply Coordinating Council/Draft Legislation – WSCC

• Water Trust Fund/Draft Legislation – WRA

• Waste Water Recycling – DPH/DWR/Counties

The Delaware Water Supply Coordinating Council works cooperatively in a public-private effort between government, academia and water purveyors to plan future water supplies in Delaware. The Council is charged with achieving the goal of water supply self-sufficiency in northern New Castle County by 2010, and with reporting bi-annually on plans to address current and future water supply and water demand issues in areas of southern New Castle County and Kent and Sussex Counties. The Council is scheduled to conclude its work by Jan. 1, 2010. The Council meets quarterly.
