Full Moon Fridays
Trills, Croaks and Quacks: Native Frogs!
7 p.m. Friday, April 3 and May 8
Have you ever wondered what that sound was on a spring evening? Most likely it was a frog singing in search of a mate. Join us at the Nature Center where you will meet a few real, live frogs and learn about the different frog families. We will continue with an outdoor exploration in search of these amazing amphibians. Although we can’t guarantee we will see the animal that night, we will share with you tips and techniques you need to better your own nature explorations. The cost is $4 per person. Call the park office to register 302-368-6900.
On the Home Front for Girl Scouts at the Judge Morris Estate
9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4
Send your kids back in time to the days of World War II when dads were in the service and moms ran the factories. Judge and Mrs. Morris frequently invited groups of children to their lovely estate to escape from the stresses and shortages of war. During this Saturday at the Judge Morris Estate, you will tour the house, try to stretch meager ration points for meals, bake a snack with rationed ingredients, create your own unique scrapbook of WWII memorabilia and start your own Victory Garden! This program fulfills the requirements for the following: Try-Its: Brownie Girl Scouts through the Years, Junior Badge: Local Lore. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Park Office at 302-368-6900. Cost is $20 per scout.
