Evergreen wreath decorating at Killens Pond State Park
The public is invited to Killens Pond State Park to make and decorate an evergreen wreath in the new Killens Pond Nature Center on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. until noon. Master Gardener Wendy Aycoth will help participants construct their own holiday wreaths using materials from nature.
Participants may also bring their own items to decorate the wreaths, and are asked to bring a pair of gardening gloves as well. The cost for the program is $10 per person and includes all materials. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 302-284-4299.
The nature center at Killens Pond is an environmentally-friendly building that sits at the edge of the park’s forest and offers spectacular views of the Killens Pond from its covered decks. New nature exhibits in the center tell the story of species found in the park. Killens Pond State Park is conveniently located at 5025 Killens Pond Road.
