Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know

 

The Delaware State Emergency Response Commission (SERC), created in response to the federal  Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) of 1986, is comprised of representatives from various state and local government organizations and industry.  The primary focus of the SERC is to enhance state and local emergency response and preparedness capabilities through better coordination and planning.

LEPC for NCC, Delaware Position Posting (3/4-22/2013):

The Local Emergency Planning Committee for New Castle County (LEPC for NCC) Delaware is seeking a highly motivated self-starting individual to function as a part-time consultant in the role of Emergency Response Plan Reviewer/Fire Service Liaison and Vice-chairman. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the initiatives of the federally mandated LEPC for NCC Delaware. The incumbent will use a risk based approach to identify, evaluate and verify the potential risk to the community/environment from businesses storing, using or transporting hazardous materials. They will also work closely with Volunteer Fire Companies located in New Castle County, Delaware to identify opportunities for the LEPC to participate in community events. The incumbent will also serve as a conduit between DNREC EPCRA and Fire Service personnel regarding the TIER II Manager database. This is a home based, part-time position with no benefits. The salary is $35,000/year ($2,916.67/month).
