Discovery Lab: Horseshoe Crabs
Thursday, April 18 4:30 – 6 p.m.
Children and adults alike are welcome to join a naturalist in the St. Jones Reserve’s Laboratory (818 Kitts Hummock Road in Dover, Delaware) to learn more about the world of horseshoe crabs. Be ready to examine the horseshoe crab up close through microscope activities. (Ages 7 and up).
Paddle Adventure on the Blackbird
Monday, April 22 10 a.m. – Noon
Take a canoe adventure up Blackbird Creek to observe the various habitats and wildlife in and along the creek. Wear comfortable clothing. Life jackets will be provided and are required to be worn. Canoeing experience is preferred but not required. The canoe trip will meet at the Blackbird Creek Reserve at 801 Blackbird Landing Road in Townsend, Delaware. Space is limited. You must be at least 14 years of age to paddle.

Coastal Heritage Driving Tours
Thursday, May 16 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join us as we discover the natural and historic resources of Delaware’s coastal communities. Leave the driving to us as you board our touring van. We will make a stop for lunch along the way. The tour will meet at the St. Jones Reserve at 818 Kitts Hummock Road in Dover, Delaware. This program is designed for participants 16 years of age or older. Space is limited.
Be a Scientist: Bird Banding
Sunday, May 19 10 a.m. – Noon
Become a scientist for the morning and learn how to capture song birds using mist nets and how to mark each individual using lightweight numbered aluminum bands. Take the challenge and be a scientist! Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We will meet at Blackbird Creek Reserve, 801 Blackbird Landing Rd., Townsend, DE.
Birding by Boat on the St. Jones River
Monday, May 20 6 – 8 a.m.
Grab your binoculars and gear up for a birding trip on the St. Jones River! This program will meet at Scotton Landing off of Barkers Landing Road in Dover, Delaware. This boating experience is designed for ages 7-adult. Life jackets will be provided and are required to be worn on the trip. Space is limited.

Geocaching
Thursday, June 13 9 – 11:30 a.m.
Are you ready for a geocaching adventure? What is geocaching? It is similar to a scavenger hunt but you use a global positioning system to find a treasure called a "cache."
