The Natural Resources Workgroup will focus on identifying important natural resource and environmental features that could be impacted by sea level rise or other coastal hazards.
Impacts to natural resources are important to consider because they not only jeopardize habitats and species, but they can also threaten public health (e.g., water quality), various economic sectors (e.g., agriculture, tourism and fishing), and quality of life (e.g., access to natural landscapes and recreational activities).
This workgroup will examine issues of concern that may include wetlands, agricultural areas, protected natural areas, wildlife refuges, threatened and endangered species, water bodies, cultural or historic sites, fisheries, shorelines and more.
