The Delaware Energy Office is charged by the Delaware Energy Act to recommend legislative or other initiatives to the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, and hence to the Governor and General Assembly, that will enable or assist the State, its instrumentalities, or private citizens, to secure federal funds made available to states and individuals to support energy conservation programs and initiatives. It is essential to the mission of the Delaware Energy Office to ensure that the citizens of Delaware are informed and participating in the enactment and knowledge of legislation. The Database of State Incentives for Renewable and Energy Efficiency (DSIRE) is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the NC Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
