The Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility, or SEU, is a non-profit entity tasked to operate and oversee programs that deliver energy efficiency and renewable energy services to Delaware’s households and businesses.
Energize Delaware, an initiative of the SEU, offers a variety of energy efficiency incentives, financing options, and educational programs to help residents and businesses save on their energy bills, boost the economy and improve the environment.
Background:
A legislative task force was created July 1, 2006 to examine the feasibility of developing a Sustainable Energy Utility for the State of Delaware. The SEU was established by state law in 2007 and is maintained by an Oversight Board, which includes members of the public, academic and private sectors. The Oversight Board is responsible for overseeing the establishment and progress of the SEU's programs.
