Volunteer Bat Count 2011

Tri-colored Bat

 Bat Count Information

Be a part of the Delaware Bat Count 2011!
As a volunteer bat spotter, you will adopt a site and count bats in the places they are most likely to use as summer roosts: houses, attics, barns, church steeples, bat houses and bridge underhangs.

As a bat spotter, you will:

  • Count bats as they emerge from a roost site.
    • May bat spotters will count adult bats returning from hibernation
    • July bat spotters will count adults with pups
  • Record and report your findings to the Divsion of Fish and Wildlife's Delaware Bat Program.

To adopt a site and be a bat spotter, contact Erin Adams at 302-735-8669 or erin.adams@state.de.us.
