DNREC TrashStoppers cameras caught the vehicle in the photo above just before the driver illegally dumped a load of trash (adjacent photo) on Hastings Farm Road in the Bridgeville-Georgetown area of Sussex County.

 Bridgeville vicinity

DNREC TrashStopper cameras are now deployed at dozens of locations throughout the state – and apt to move to another vista when the DNREC Office of Community Services’ Environmental Crimes Unit gets tipped off to habitual illegal dumping elsewhere. Many of the TrashStopper cameras have been sited through citizens’ tips made to the DNREC Natural Resources Police Hotline (800-662-8802).

The illegal dumping incident depicted below on Hay Road in New Castle County resulted in the arrest and recent conviction of Juan Martinez Jr. of Claymont, as the registered owner of the vehicle captured by TrashStopper cameras.  Martinez pled guilty in court to charges of illegal dumping and was ordered to pay a fine.
