The 2011-2016 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) identifies recreational trends and preferences, community outdoor recreation facility needs, and issues affecting both outdoor recreation and conservation in Delaware. In order to remain eligible to receive federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) assistance, states are required by the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, to develop a SCORP every five years. The Plan, by state statute, is also required by the Land Protection Act.
The SCORP Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is comprised of state and local recreation officials, outdoor recreation providers, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, land managers, economic development officials, and members of the healthcare community. Throughout the planning process, members of the TAC will guide the development of the SCORP and make recommendations to address outdoor recreation needs in the state of Delaware.
