Master Plan Draft and Finalization

DNREC's Division of Parks & Recreation is in the process of creating a master plan for White Clay Creek State Park. The purpose of this master plan is to provide a vision and a framework for the stewardship and use of White Clay Creek State Park. A draft Master Plan is now available for review and comment:

Upcoming:

  • July 30, 2019 – The Division of Parks & Recreation will host an open house for the public to ask questions and give comments regarding the draft Master Plan. The open house will be held from 5 -7 p.m. at Deerfield (507 Thompson Station Rd., Newark, DE 19711).
  • August 13, 2019 – Deadline to submit comments on the draft master plan.
  • August 2019 – The Division will make any necessary revisions to create a final draft of the Master Plan. The final draft will be posted on this webpage.
  • Late Summer-Early Fall – DNREC's Division of Parks & Recreation will hold a public meeting to hear and address any remaining public comments or questions. Afterwards, the Master Plan will be finalized and adopted.

Public involvement
An initial survey was available for several months. A summary of results is available here. The Division of Parks & Recreation held four open houses to gather public interest and ideas before creating a draft of the White Clay Creek State Park Master Plan.
