Purpose: This group was formed by DNREC Secretary Collin O’Mara for the purpose of examining issues such as beach erosion, marsh drainage and other related issues in the Delaware Bay Beach communities, resulting in recommendations, both short and long term, for how the State of Delaware and other levels of government might address these problems. The group originated after Sec. O’Mara and DNREC staff met with State Legislators who represent the bay beach areas. All the aforementioned issues have been developing for some time and in certain cases are reaching a crisis level.
