Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) Phase III


The Chesapeake Bay Program has begun the Mid-point Assessment of the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) established by the
US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2010, per the Bay Agreement. Schedule for completion of this Assessment and the
development of a revised Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) to meet the new requirements that result from this
Mid-point Assessment is shown in the table below.

Jurisdictions report annual BMP progress; Verification Programs in place  December 2018
Draft Phase III WIPs are due to the EPA and are posted on jurisdictions’ websites for public review April 12, 2019
Public review of Phase III WIP due June 7, 2019
Final draft of Phase III WIPs are due to the EPA and are posted on jurisdictions’ websites August 9, 2019
