Appoquinimink Pollution Control Strategy
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has accepted the Appoquinimink Pollution Control Strategy as the formal guidance document for attaining Appoquinimink Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) water quality goals. The Appoquinimink Pollution Control Strategy is designed to reduce the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and bacteria in the polluted waters of the Appoquinimink Watershed to the level required by the Total Maximum Daily Loads. The strategy includes many voluntary actions recommended by a diverse group of stakeholders including farmers, scientists, residents, government officials and teachers, who worked together over many years to meet the goal of improving water quality in the Appoquinimink Watershed.
