DNREC's Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances' Tank Management Section (TMS) formed the UST Advisory Committee (USTAC) in 2016 to guide development of the Draft Amendments to the Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations; and provide input and advice regarding other requirements relating to DNREC's UST Program. With the assistance of the USTAC, the objective is to include federally-mandated changes, as well as any other changes that would facilitate regulation, operation, maintenance and closure of regulated USTs. The USTAC will also help integrate best management practices. The Tank Management Section will rely on the USTAC to represent both private industry and public interests for the UST Program. Please contact Alex Rittberg at: Alex.Rittberg@state.de.us or by phone at 302-395-2500 if you would like to join the USTAC - new members are always welcome!
DNREC received written comments on the UST regulations from USTAC members and submitted a draft of the changes to the U.S. EPA, dated Aug.10, 2017. This version of draft changes to the UST regulations can be found here. The Department is also maintaining a comprehensive list of changes in a spreadsheet here.
