DNREC's Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances' Tank Management Section (TMS) formed the UST Advisory Committee (USTAC) in 2016 to guide development of the Draft Amendments to the Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations; and provide input and advice regarding other requirements relating to DNREC's UST Program. With the assistance of the USTAC, the objective is to include federally-mandated changes, as well as any other changes that would facilitate regulation, operation, maintenance and closure of regulated USTs. The USTAC will also help integrate best management practices. The Tank Management Section will rely on the USTAC to represent both private industry and public interests for the UST Program. Please contact Alex Rittberg at: Alex.Rittberg@state.de.us or by phone at 302-395-2500 if you would like to join the USTAC - new members are always welcome!
DNREC received written comments on the UST regulations from USTAC members and submitted a draft of the changes to the U.S. EPA, dated Aug.10, 2017. This most recent version of draft changes to the UST regulations can be found here. The Department is also maintaining a comprehensive list of changes in a spreadsheet here.
ADVISORY: DNREC has been working with the Underground Storage Tank Advisory Committee (USTAC) to develop amendments to Delaware’s Underground Storage Tank Regulations. The Wednesday Jan. 24 USTAC meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 27. The meeting will be held at DNREC's Lukens Drive Office from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The meeting date has been changed to allow the U.S. EPA more time to review the most recent version of draft changes to the regulations and to provide the Department with comments. The next meeting will also review any additional changes that need to be made to the draft regulations based on EPA’s comments.
