The Tank Management Section (TMS) partners with DNREC's Division of Air Quality to implement the Vapor Recovery (VR) program. The VR program is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of Stage I and Stage II vapor recovery systems at gasoline dispensing facilities.
The TMS conducts inspections every three years at facilities with VR systems to prevent emission releases to the environment by ensuring that the vapor recovery systems are properly installed, inspected, tested, and maintained. The Compliance Assistance Manual was developed to assist owners and operators to maintain the compliance of their VR and underground storage tank (UST) systems. The manual contains easy-to-follow instructions and forms for owners and operators.
Information regarding UST sites is available online using the Delaware Environmental Navigator (DEN). A request for information may be made through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
