Duck BlindDuck Blind Maintenance
The Division of Fish & Wildlife

Location: New Castle County and Kent County Wildlife Areas

Dates: Weekdays in early to mid-September through October

Time Commitment: 4-5 hours depending on the sites visited

Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, should be comfortable in a boat and must be able to swim

Project: The Division of Fish & Wildlife is preparing for the waterfowl hunting season and is looking for assistance with grassing duck blinds. This activity involves traveling by boat to state-owned duck blinds. Volunteers and staff will work together to make any necessary repairs to the blinds and will attach new grass.

What to Bring: Chest waders or hip boots, long sleeves, work gloves, lunch, PFD (a PFD will be provided if you do not have one)

Annual Delaware Coastal Clean-up
Volunteer Justin Grimminger cleans up trash at the DuPont Nature Center (Milford)
Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014           9 a.m. - noon


Sponsored by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, the clean-up spans the First State’s 97-mile eastern coastline and includes river and ocean shorelines as well as inland wetland and watershed areas. Clean-ups will be held at various sites in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties. T-shirts will be provided for volunteers who pre-register.

Site captains and volunteers are needed - join us as we clean up Delaware's beaches and inland natural areas!
